Sharon Yvonne Stone is the sole child from Dorothy Lawson (an accountant) and Joseph William Stone II, who was a manufacturer of tool and dies, as well as a former employee of a plant. Sharon was born on 10 March 1958, at Meadville Pennsylvania. Stone has three brothers: Michael, Kelly, and Patrick. Stone was considered to be academically gifted when she started two grades when she was five. In 1975 she was a graduate of Saegertown high school in Saegertown (Pennsylvania). She also competed and was crowned the Miss Pennsylvania beauty contest. Stone relocated to New Jersey in 1977 with her aunt to pursue a career as models. Within a month, she signed up with Ford Modeling Agency. The next stage was Europe where she spent one year living in Milan, Paris and other cities. Stone did, however, become frustrated with modeling and acting in Europe. Stone decided to keep her acting career going acting as a model while living in Europe. The film of Woody Allen, "Stardust Memories", got mixed praise when she was 20.
